Commuting in Dubai? Google Maps just made traveling easier with this new feature

Thanks to the latest Android updates, Google Maps is no longer just another navigation app that tells you how to get from Point A to Point B.

If you’re working in Dubai Silicon Oasis and, like a percentage workers that rely on RTA buses to get to and from the office, you’ll know it takes 20 to 30 minutes before the next 365, 366, or X25 arrives. But how long do you really have to wait? Can you still take 5 minutes to touch up in the bathroom? Do you still have time to take the scenic route to the bus stop?

With the latest Google Maps update, all you need to do is swipe up to see the new tab containing places, driving, and transit buttons and see real-time public transport information, as well as traffic situations the will help you manage your journey better.  It also gives recommendations on which mode of transportation can get your to where you’re going at a much shorter time.

We know some of us barely have time to exercise, and the only cardio we actually do daily is running from the office to the bus stop or metro station, but Google guarantees you won’t have to do that again. Sorry, now you’ll really have to sign up for that gym membership.

All you need to do to access travel information is save your home and work addresses (or any address you frequent) and voila! One swipe up and you can plan your journey ahead with ease, whether you’re driving or taking any of RTA’s buses or trains.
