Looks like OnePlus 5 is beating the iPhone with this feature

After the success of its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T models, OnePlus has definitely reached cult status. Soon, the launch of OnePlus 5 will cement its place on the leaderboard. Leaked photos of the OnePlus 5 abound the Internet, clueing us in on what to expect from this innovative brand.

Apple’s iPhone is beginning to take the backseat with the emergence of new mobile brands capable of churning out affordable smartphones with bigger and better specs. One of these brands, OnePlus, started out as a small startup in China in 2013. It made a name for itself after being featured in numerous blogs as the cheapest smartphone brand in the market.

iPhone vs OnePlus

One glaring similarity between the iPhone and the OnePlus 5 is the dual lens camera. According to recent reports, the latter partnered with image processing software company DxO to ensure that the phone’s camera will be at par—if not better—with the competition. Compared to the iPhone whose camera is located on the upper left, OnePlus’ rear camera is placed smack in the middle of the smartphone’s back panel. According to online portal Slashleaks, the rear camera is 23mp while the front can perform at 16mp.

Not content with imitating the premier smartphone’s shooting capabilities, another leaked photo shows that the OnePlus 5 also deemed the headphone jack unnecessary, which frees up more space for the built-in speakers. If this is true, it is likely that the OnePlus will also only sport a lone USB Type-C port.

The OnePlus 5 is set to launch later this year. Whether this would be its final look or not, there’s no denying that it has the public on their toes. Let’s just hope that it lives up to the hype.
