Careem Now Offers “Box” Delivery Service

Careem, Dubai’s trusted transportation booking service, just launched an affordable and convenient delivery service for sending and receiving  small items. It’s the company’s take on the emerging rivalry among other service providers in the area, particularly Fetchr.

Through this new service, aptly called BOX, users can request for item pick-up and delivery through Careem’s app.

Simple, but what’s the catch?

The item should be able to fit in a box carried on the back of the universal light motorized vehicle. Individuals who tend to forget small items in their home such as house keys or packed lunch can avail BOX for 20 AED. The new service also features a tracking system to ensure that the items are delivered on time and in good condition.

How does it work?

The process is similar with booking a car within the Careem application. Just launch the app, select the BOX feature services, and follow the standard booking steps. The app will automatically look for the closest available motor vehicles to the customers. Afterwards, it will indicates the estimated time of delivery and projected fare. You will receive a notification once the driver has arrived at the pick-up point, and a receipt email once the package has reached its destination.

Careem’s executives say this new service is based on feedback and trends currently in the market. It is the company’s continuous effort to explore innovations to provide their consumers the most efficient and timely services.
