Fetchr Partners With Majid Al Futtaim For Shopping Delivery Service

Are you fond of shopping? If you are, we guarantee that you’ll love Fetchr’s new service. The Dubai-based technology startup which offer logistical services recently partnered with Dubai-based developer Majid Al Futtaim to provide delivery services to mall customers.

How does it work?

The new service, aptly named Hands Free Shopping, allows shoppers to have their shopping bags delivered to a location of their choosing by utilizing Fetchr’s GPS locating system. According to Majid Al Futtaim Properties CEO Robert Welanetz, this move is a rebuttal to the growing e-commerce industry, wherein he took the “backbone” of hassle-free online shopping by applying it to the physical experience.

Where can you use it?

As of writing, the service is only being offered at the Mall of the Emirates. “At Mall of the Emirates, we continuously adopt unique and innovative services that increase customer convenience and transform the way people shop,” says Director Hussain Moosa. Furthermore, he adds, “customer-centric enhancements through innovation is a top priority”.

Back in May, Fetchr was able to 151 million AED in funding from various investors, which included Majid Al Futtaim. The new service has been under tests since December last year and was officially rolled out on Thursday last week.

Exclusively for Ramadan

Fetchr and Majid Al Futtaim has another service under their partnership, and we’re pretty sure that shoppers and non-shoppers alike will find this interesting. In line with the Year of Giving in the UAE, you can use the Fetchr app to have your donations delivered to any of Majid Al Futtaim’s donation boxes free of charge. These donations–which could range from clothes, toys, and books–will be shipped to families in need, all in the “spirit of the holy month”.
